Roses In The Hedgerow- Primitives And Garden Treasures

Someday I'm going to have a store with a tinkly bell hung over the door
with real glass cases and counters wide and just about everything inside
Pots and kettles and crockery
Seeds in packets and flowers too
I'll fix the window and dust each shelf and take in the money all by myself
It will be my store and I'll say
what can I do for you .. today ?

Home & Garden Journal...

June 2009

I've been very very busy, with barn sales, estate sales, filling the shops with new goodies and in my garden, I've been planting and dividing, and have already harvested some herbs and flowers for my drieds. Look for primitive dried herb and flower bouquets coming soon. Some are already listed in my ebay...

We have the gardens all planted with lots of fall goodies, including indian corn, black mullet, sunflowers in every size, shape and color. Every kind of pumpkins you can think of, white, orange, red, small, mini's, and even fat ones too.

My gardens are starting to burst with colors from the red and blue lapins, pink and white cone flowers, purple catnip and bright yellow yarrow- all so very pretty. I love waking up in the morning and taking my coffee out on the deck to enjoy the sunshine, listen to the birds singing, and the light breeze making my wind chimes sing with their soft musicial tones.... Ahhhh- I love summer time....

New goodies in my gardens are my primitive chalkboard wooden doors that I made for myself and now everyone who sees them wants them too. So- I started making them to sell at The Primitive Star, a very cute primitive shoppe in Ontario, along with my garden chairs, birdhouses, florals, and boy oh boy- my glass garden houses. They have been a big hit.... ( I have one nestled among the ferns and impatients under my crab apple tree ). I am also now selling my glass garden houses, florals, and other primitive pieces at a wonderful new home and garden shoppe, called Mackenzie's... We've sold a record number of garden houses in just a few short weeks, so I am thrilled. Mackenzie's is located in the historic town of Palmyra... Check out Mackenzies website to see more at www.MyMackenzies.com

Steve, Millie, and I like to take little trips here and there on Sunday afternoon. I grab the camera, and we head out for some of our favorite spots along the lake, hitting farm markets and antique shoppes and maybe even stopping for some ice cream. I can't forget that ice cream- lol.... :)

Here are some photo's from our last trip.... Lake Ontario and boating on Sodus Bay... historic homes and farms overlooking the lake....

I hope you enjoyed this months journal as I sure do enjoy sharing them with you. Come Back Often as new adventures await...

Gail
