Roses In The Hedgerow- Primitives And Garden Treasures

Someday I'm going to have a store with a tinkly bell hung over the door
with real glass cases and counters wide and just about everything inside
Pots and kettles and crockery
Seeds in packets and flowers too
I'll fix the window and dust each shelf and take in the money all by myself
It will be my store and I'll say
what can I do for you .. today ?

Home & Garden Journal...

January 2010

You have all been probably wondering where I've been for these last few months? Well, let me tell you of a new adventure I've started.

In March of 09, the 'Primitive Star', a small little shoppe opened it's doors in Carolyn's home, she saw my work and asked me to sell on consignment. Of course, I said I would. As months went by, Carolyn asked me if I would like to join her and become a partner in the 'Primitive Star'. Honored- I said yes. Soon this little shop was just bursting at the seams. We needed more room... So we decided to move to a little larger space on the main highway. In July of 09, we opened Primitive Star at a new location, with 4 consigning artists, still small, but knowing this was just a stepping stone for us.

Today- 6 months later, 'Primitive Star' is owned by three women, Carolyn, Kathy and I. And might I say that Kathy and Carolyn are VERY talented artists. We now have sixteen local and very gifted consigning artists in Primitive and Folk Art, All Handmade's, made here in the good ol' USA. And Guess What???? We Need More Room- lol....

Soooo, we are moving again. A perfect building of 1400 square feet opened up just a block up the road. We will be opening the new doors as of February 1st, 2010. Just in time for Spring open houses in March.

There are even more artists joining us after the move also. We are so very excited!! We know God is blessing us and we give him all the glory. We have dedicated this shop to the Lord. He is using us in a mighty way. We have so much joy, fun and laughter in our shop. And everyone that enters feels this warmth and just loves being there. If you are ever in our area, just stop on in to say hi... We'd love to see you.

Soooo, now ya know where I've been... lol... And with Winter upon us, and the holidays over, I can now work on updating my website, emails, and adding new items for Spring.

And as anxious as I am for Spring to come, with all of it's glorious color and warmth, I'd like to share some of these pictures taken from around home. We have nothing but SNOW- SNOW- And SNOW... It's quite beautiful, but absolutely hysterical as I bundle up with all 3 layers on, waddling out into the snow.. I look like the little kid in the Christmas Story, hoping not to fall and have to roll my way back home. Too funny.. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do.

And last but not least, we a new family member. A little kitty named Sammy. I stumbled onto Sammy at a garage sale, at a cat rescue center. Sammy was in a large cage with 2 other kitty's, and every time I walked by the cage, she would stick out her paw and grab me. Guess she really wanted to come home with me huh? Sooo, home came our little 7 month old Sammy- who is now in the vet's appointment book to be fixed and get her shots.. More on that important story another time.

May God Bless You & Keep You Safe, And Bless Our Troops And Our Country.

Gail
