Baskets...
According to some experts, basketry is the oldest craft in our land. For hundreds of years, not to look at or admire, but to be used for specific purposes. Baskets were used to gather crops, for storage, or transporting this or that. This explains why there are sooo many unusual shapes and sizes... And most are not only useful and practical, but an art form in themselves.

Buttock Basket/ Eggs Basket
This antique woven splint buttocks basket with oak handle and rim with God's eye wrapped pattern on each side of the handle is aged and beautiful. It has a deep rich dark patina and is in excellent condition. Measures 9 inches wide from each side of handle, and is 5 inches deep. Perfect for the prim collector.

This natural color split buttock short handle basket is an unusual shape with a hand woven pattern, and God's eye wrapped pattern on each side of the handles. It's in excellent condition and measures 14 inches long by 9 1/2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches deep. Nice size and a great collectors piece.
